Copper exploration in Region I, Chile
Nikko Exploration and Development Company was first established as the mineral exploration arm of the Nippon Mining & Metals Co., (Nippon Mining Holdings) inheriting the science and technology developed through active mining experience of more than a hundred years in all parts of the world. But with the changing needs of the society, we are now engaged in a wide variety of activities including, among others, geothermal energy, hydrology and quality of surface and groundwater, engineering geology, mitigation of earthquake disasters, prevention of mine pollution, development of hot springs and groundwater, underground storage of oil and LPG.

We pride ourselves in occupying the leading position within geoscientific consulting industry in the fields of satellite remote sensing, high-resolution reflection seismic survey, gravity survey, deep core drilling, and 3-dimentional analysis of groundwater flow.

Our design and engineering management pertaining to oil and LGP underground storage sites are being highly regarded. Also development of directional drilling which enables change of drilling direction in deep subsurface zones and simultaneous coring has been successfully applied.

An example of our recently completed activities in environmental protection is a very efficient daily control of excavated wastes during the construction of a Shinkansen railway tunnel through mineralized zones.

We will continue to exert full efforts in the development, improvement, and application of new technologies so that we will be able to cater to the rapidly changing needs of the society.
