Global warming measures

The following is an example of our endeavors related to forests which are environmentally important in many ways particularly for absorbing greenhouse gases

Monitoring and conservation of mangrove forests

Mangrove forests form very rich ecosystems in the coastal areas of the tropical to subtropical zones. They are environmentally extremely relevant, but as they often occur in parts without easy access, it is often difficult to clearly define the areal extent of their growth. Thus the clarification of the distribution of various species of mangroves is an issue of importance and urgency. We have developed a method for mapping mangrove forests using satellite remote sensing data and are contributing to the conservation of environment of the coastal zones.
